Yale 70, UIC 58

UIC (1-2) lost its first game of the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic to Yale (2-1) Friday, 70-58. The Flames fell behind by 14 points at halftime and could not get closer than 10 points in the second period.

Yale torched UIC from deep, shooting 9-of-20 on 3-pointers. Senior guard Javier Duren stuffed the box score with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Senior forward Justin Sears led the Bulldogs with 16 points and three blocks.

No Flames scored in double figures, but senior guard Marc Brown, junior guard Paris Burns and junior forward Jake Wiegand all scored nine points. Junior guard D’Juan Miller did not convert a shot from the field, but he dished out five assists while turning over the ball just once.

The Flames face tournament host Kent State on Saturday at 7:30 ET.
