UIC received a commitment Friday from Canadian product Godwin Boahen, a source told The Catch and Shoot.

Boahen is a 5-foot-10 point guard known for his ball handling, which will fill a big need for the Flames in the backcourt. The Flames used 6-foot-4 Lance Whitaker and 6-foot-7 Dikembe Dixson at point guard last season, and neither is a natural floor general.

Boahen joins shooting guard Tarkus Ferguson and wings Jordan Blount and K.J. Santos in UIC’s class of 2016.
