New Mexico State (20-8, 9-3 WAC) continued its push to the top of the WAC standings with a dominant, 84-55 win against Chicago State (10-14, 5-5) on Saturday night.
The Aggies have now won three in a row and six of their last seven games to stick within a half-game of first-place Utah Valley.
Meanwhile, the Cougars have lost four of their last five games and sit in fourth place in the WAC.
New Mexico State opened up on fire, gaining a 23-2 lead after a little more than eight minutes.
Chicago State fought within 12 points late in the first half but never really could recover from the opening minutes.
Senior forward Renaldo Dixon led New Mexico State with 20 points and nine rebounds off the bench. The Toronto native is now averaging 14 points and 7.3 rebounds over the last three games.
Junior guard DK Eldridge posted 17 points and seven rebounds while junior guard Daniel Mullings recorded 15 points.
Junior guard Clarke Rosenberg led Chicago State with 20 points off the bench on 9-of-15 shooting.
Senior forward Matt Ross was the only other Cougar in double figures with 12 points.
Chicago State returns home Thursday to host Utah Valley with a chance to impact the WAC title race.
