Former Missouri State guard Ron Mvouika is transferring to St. John’s, he announced Tuesday on Twitter. Mvouika played in only two games last season due to a back injury and will be eligible immediately for the Red Storm as a graduate transfer.
Mvouika, a Paris native, averaged 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists two years ago. The 6-foot-6 guard also shot 39.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Mvouika is one of new St. John’s coach Chris Mullin‘s first commitments. The Johnnies have also landed Tennessee transfer Tariq Owens, junior college transfer Darien Williams and 6-foot-11 incoming freshman Yankuba Sima since Mullin took over.
