Loyola forward Aundre Jackson has won MVC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Jackson, a 6’5″ junior, averaged 16 points and shot 83.3% from the field last week as the Ramblers went 2-1. The junior college transfer scored a career-high 22 points in a loss to St. Joseph’s and followed that with 13 points and 2 steals in a win against Oral Roberts.

Through five games, Jackson is averaging 14.6 points and 5.2 rebounds for Loyola with a 79.5 field-goal percentage. He is the first Loyola player to score in double figures in each of his first five games since Paul McMillan did so in 2002-03.

Northern Iowa guard Jeremy Morgan was awarded MVC Player of the Week.
