Kelan Martin, Henry Ellenson earn Big East weekly honors

Player of the Week

Butler forward Kelan Martin took home Big East Player of the Week honors after averaging 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games last week.

The standout sixth man dropped a career-high 25 points in a victory over Butler. He added 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

Despite playing only 22.2 minutes per game, Martin is averaging 14.8 points, shooting 58.1 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from beyond the arc.

In his last 69 minutes on the floor, Martin has scored 69 points.

 

Freshman of the Week

Marquette forward Henry Ellenson earned his second Freshman of the Week award. The freshman big man averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Golden Eagles.

With 15 points and 11 rebounds against Wisconsin, Ellenson recorded his fifth double-double of the season.
