It was only a matter of time until Jordan Johnson recorded a triple-double. That time came Monday evening, as the Milwaukee point guard tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in an 87-51 victory against Youngstown State.
Johnson, who is No. 2 in Division I in assists per game, had only one assist at halftime. He played only 10 minutes in the second half as Milwaukee pulled away from Youngstown State, but that was enough to tally nine more dimes.
This was Johnson’s ninth game this season with at least 10 assists. He had flirted with a triple-double on two prior occasions, posting 19 point, 10 assists and nine rebounds against Minnesota in December and 20 points, nine assists and six rebounds against Oakland in January.
Milwaukee is now 9-7 in Horizon League play, good for fifth place, and one game behind fourth-place Green Bay. At 18-11, the Panthers could record their first 20-win regular season since 2004-05 with wins against Valparaiso and UIC this week.
