Illinois makes five-star recruit’s top 5

Class of 2015 power forward Carlton Bragg publicly narrowed his list to five schools this week on Twitter, and Illinois remains in contention to land the coveted recruit. The Illini are still competing with UCLA, Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona.

Bragg, a 6’9″ power forward from Cleveland, is a consensus five-star recruit. ESPN and Rivals both rank him No. 14 nationally in the Class of 2015, and 247Sports ranks him No. 16. ESPN pits Bragg as the best power forward in this recruiting class.

Here is Rivals’ scouting report on the big fella by Eric Bossi:

“A high flyer around the rim who can run and is very explosive in transition. Has good touch and legitimate range to the three point line. Can beat other bigs to the rim off the dribble and is a more than adequate rebounder. Needs strength and has to be careful not to settle for jump shots.”
