Greg Kampe took his ugly Christmas sweater to a whole new level

There was plenty of ugly to go around at the O’Rena on Tuesday night. Oakland shot 34.9% from the field while being held to its lowest point total since last year’s Horizon League Tournament in a 61-59 loss at the buzzer to Northeastern.

Oh, it was also Ugly Sweater Night. Here’s what head coach Greg Kampe wore.

Yes, that is a stuffed reindeer’s head attached to the front of Kampe’s sweater, and its hindquarters attached to the back. Kampe had bragged about his sweater leading up to the game, and the result lived up to the self-professed hype.

Also, Kampe made the mistake of wearing red and black, which are Northeastern’s colors, instead of gold and black, which are Oakland’s. That karma could be what helped T.J. Williams hit this highly difficult game-winner falling away from the basket.

Williams finished the evening with a terrific stat line: 22 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
