DePaul’s Eli Cain earns Big East All-Freshman honors

DePaul guard Eli Cain was named to the Big East All-Freshman team Sunday. Cain averaged 10.2 points this season and shot 43.7 percent from 3-point range.

In Big East competition, Cain ranked No. 8 in free throw rate and No. 22 in effective field-goal percentage. The 6-foot-6 guard also ranked No. 3 among freshmen in both categories.

Cain finished the season playing his best basketball. He averaged 15 points in the final eight games and posted a career-high 25 points in a Feb. 17 matchup at St. John’s.

This is the eighth time a DePaul player has been named to the All-Freshman team.
