Cole Huff scored a season-high 28 points off the bench Saturday as Creighton blew out DePaul, 88-66, at CenturyLink Center Omaha. DePaul (8-15, 2-9 Big East) had no answer for the junior forward, who shot 9-of-11 from the field and made four 3-pointers.
DePaul, which lost a close game to Creighton (15-9, 6-5) three weeks ago at Allstate Arena, fell behind by double figures 15 minutes into the game, when Huff completed a rare four-point play. That play started a stretch where Huff scored 12 straight Bluejays points, and 18 of the team’s final 20 points in the first half.
A spurt by DePaul early in the second half cut Creighton’s lead to 49-39, but the Blue Demons never got any closer.
Senior forward Myke Henry led DePaul with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Guards Darrick Wood and Eli Cain added 12 points apiece.
The Blue Demons return home Tuesday to face No. 3 Villanova.
