Player of the Week

Chicago State senior guard Clarke Rosenberg takes home this honor this week. Rosenberg is on a tear to start the season, averaging 20.5 points. He is shooting 52.5% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point range.

He has performed well against high-major competition, posting 20 points at Arizona State and 22 points at Creighton.

Honorable mention: Tre Demps, Northwestern; Jake Wiegand, UIC; Sanjay Lumpkin, Northwestern; Billy Garrett Jr., DePaul;

Freshman of the Week

Northwestern point guard Bryant McIntosh has shown great poise manning the Wildcats’ offense, and he has also turned in great numbers. He led Northwestern’s late comeback against North Florida, finishing with 16 points and four assists while shooting 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

He struggled a bit more two days later but still finished with seven assists. He also had a game-tying layup in regulation that allowed the Wildcats to force overtime and win in the extra period.

Honorable mention: Donte Ingram, Loyola
