Every week for the 2016-17 season, The Catch and Shoot will name a Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week, Team of the Week and Game of the Week among the five Division I schools in the Chicago area.
Here are the winners for the 16th week of the season (Feb. 27-March 5):
Player of the Week
Bryant McIntosh, Northwestern
After an average game against Michigan, McIntosh rebounded with a huge outing against Purdue, posting 25 points and 6 assists. For the week, he averaged 19 points and 5.5 dimes.
With those 6 assists Sunday, McIntosh also broke Northwestern’s program record for a career.

Freshman of the Week
Tarkus Ferguson, UIC
Ferguson stuffed the stat sheet again in UIC’s Horizon League quarterfinals win with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. The freshman point guard also played 38 minutes against Green Bay’s high-pressure defense.

Northwestern
The Wildcats effectively clinched their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth with Wednesday’s thrilling win over Michigan.
