Chicago State was picked to finish last in the WAC coaches and media polls. The Cougars received solely last-place votes in the coaches poll and all but one last-place vote in the media poll.

The Cougars also had no players selected to all-conference teams in either poll.

Defending champion New Mexico State was picked to win the league in both polls, although in both cases Grand Canyon was only slightly behind. The Antelopes were two points back in the media poll and one point back in the coaches poll.

While only New Mexico State, Grand Canyon and Cal State Bakersfield received first-place votes in the coaches poll, six different teams received at least one first-place vote in the media poll.
