Billy Garrett Jr. hits game-winning free throws at Georgetown, then throws shade at Hoyas’ effort

DePaul got its first road win of the season Wednesday as Billy Garrett Jr. made two free throws with 0.2 seconds left to beat Georgetown 67-65.

They were Garrett’s only points of the second half, but the senior came up clutch once again hitting a game-winner for the third time this season. (That’s extra impressive considering DePaul has only nine wins.)

But Garrett was not done there. After the game he criticized the effort of Georgetown, a team that was fighting for its NCAA Tournament hopes. With this loss, the Hoyas’ at-large chances are finished.

“We got a sense that they kinda didn’t wanna play that hard,” Garrett said, according to The Hoya.

That’s a lot coming from the leader of a team that had lost five straight games by double digits, but to the winner go the spoils.
