Andre Hollins win Big Ten Player of the Week

Minnesota senior guardĀ Andre Hollins won Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. In two games last week, Hollins averaged 21.0 points on 51.9% field-goal shooting. He also shot 56.3% from 3-point range.

Hollins, an electric shooter, knocked down seven 3-pointers in the Golden Gophers’ ACC/Big Ten Challenge win against Wake Forest, falling one shy of the school’s single-game record.

Ohio State’sĀ D’Angelo Russell earned Freshman of the Week. The young guard averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games last week. This is Russell’s first Freshman of the Week honor.
