After falling Tuesday in the Horizon League championship game, Wright State accepted a postseason bid to the Collegeinsider.com Tournament. The Raiders, who finished 3rd in the Horizon League, will play at East Carolina this coming Tuesday, Mar. 18.
This marks Wright State’s second straight season with a postseason appearance. Last year, the Raiders earned a CBI berth and advanced to the tournament’s semifinals.
The Raiders won 20 games this season and rattled off six victories in a row before losing in the conference title game to Milwaukee.
A senior-laden team, Wright State could be a threat in a postseason tournament like the CIT. Ten Raiders log more than 12 minutes per game; seven are seniors, two are juniors, and one is a sophomore.
East Carolina enters the postseason with a 17-16 record. The Pirates won one game in the Conference USA Tournament but were then eliminated by UTEP in the second round. The Pirates are the defending CIT champions after defeating Weber State in last season’s title game.
