VIDEO: Keifer Sykes scores 2,000th career point in return home to Chicago

Green Bay Keifer Sykes has historically played well against UIC, particularly when the Phoenix visit UIC Pavilion. Sykes, a Chicago native and Marshall needed 19 points Thursday against UIC to reach 2,000 points for his career.

He accomplished that with ease, posting 21 points in the first half alone. He surpassed the 2,000-point mark with this 3-pointer at the first half buzzer, which also gave the Phoenix a 40-25 lead over the Flames.

Sykes finished¬†Thursday night’s game with 2,017 career points, good for No. 9 all-time in the Horizon League. Next up in the record books is former Butler guard Darrin Fitzgerald, who had 2,019 points for his career.
