Top 25 Rankings for the Week of November 25

1. Michigan State (6-0). Last week: 1

Michigan State defeated Virginia Tech and Oklahoma to win the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic last weekend. The Spartans return home to face Mount St. Mary’s on Friday.

 

2. Kansas (4-0). Last week: 2

Kansas blew out Iona and Towson last week, so all four of its wins have come with double-digit margins of victory. The Jayhawks are the heavy favorite in the Battle 4 Atlantis this week.

 

3. Duke (5-1). Last week: 4

Duke survived what would have been a monumental upset, defeating Vermont 91-90. The Blue Devils will play in the NIT Season Tip-Off this week against Alabama on Wednesday and either Arizona or Drexel on Friday.

 

4. Kentucky (4-1). Last week: 5

Kentucky improved to 4-1 with a win against Texas-Arlington last week. The Wildcats will host Cleveland State and unbeaten Eastern Michigan this week.

 

5. Arizona (5-0). Last week: 6

Arizona had no trouble with Fairleigh Dickinson and Rhode Island, advancing to the NIT Season Tip-Off semifinals at Madison Square Garden, where it will face Drexel on Wednesday.

 

6. Oklahoma State (4-0). Last week: 7

Oklahoma State made a statement with a 101-80 victory against Memphis. The Cowboys return to action against South Florida on Monday.

 

7. Ohio State (4-0). Last week: 9

Ohio State has won all four of its games by at least 10 points. This week, the Buckeyes host Wyoming and North Florida.

 

8. Louisville (5-1). Last week: 3

Louisville’s 21-game winning streak dating back to last season ended Sunday with a loss to North Carolina. The Cardinals will return to action against Southern Miss on Friday.

 

9. Syracuse (4-0). Last week: 8

Syracuse enters the Maui Invitational undefeated, and will face another unbeaten in Minnesota in the first round of the tournament.

 

10. Wisconsin (6-0). Last week: 12

Wisconsin moves into the top 10 this week after defeating North Dakota, Bowling Green, and Oral Roberts. At the Cancun Challenge, the Badgers will face Saint Louis and then either West Virginia or Old Dominion.

 

11. UCLA (5-0). Last week: 14

UCLA’s toughest opponent so far is only Drexel, but the Bruins are still unbeaten. They will face Nevada and Northwestern in Las Vegas this week.

 

12. Creighton (4-0). Last week: 15

Creighton defeated Tulsa on Saturday for its fourth straight win. The Bluejays will face Arizona State on Thursday in their first game of The Wooden Legacy.

 

13. Gonzaga (4-0). Last week: 16

Gonzaga enters the Maui Invitational undefeated, and it will play its first game against Dayton.

 

14. Florida (4-1). Last week: 17

Florida knocked off Southern and Middle Tennessee last week to improve to 4-1. The Gators will play their second road game of the season at Jacksonville on Monday.

 

15. Baylor (4-0). Last week: 18

Baylor had a close call against Charleston Southern last week, but the Bears kept their perfect record with a 69-64 win. They will play Chaminade on Monday in their first Maui Invitational game.

 

16. Iowa State (4-0). Last week: Unranked

Iowa State picked up its second quality win of the season, defeating Brigham Young on the road Wednesday. The Cyclones return home to face UMKC this week.

 

17. Massachusetts (6-0). Last week: Unranked

Massachusetts defeated Nebraska, New Mexico, and Clemson to win the Charleston Classic this week. The Minutemen have the coming week off.

 

18. Connecticut (6-0). Last week: Unranked

Connecticut knocked off Boston College and Indiana at Madison Square Garden to win the 2K Sports Classic. Next up for the Huskies is Loyola (MD), which is also undefeated at 4-0.

 

19. Michigan (4-2). Last week: 13

Michigan needed overtime to beat Florida State in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off semifinals and then lost to Charlotte in the championship game.

 

20. Marquette (3-1). Last week: 20

Marquette begins its three-game road trip this week with games against Arizona State and Cal State Fullerton.

 

21. Wichita State (5-0). Last week: 25

Despite being a mid-major, Wichita State will be the favorite at the CBE Classic this week. The Shockers play DePaul on Monday and then either Texas or Brigham Young on Tuesday.

 

22. Notre Dame (4-1). Last week: 21

Notre Dame bounced back from its Indiana State loss with wins against Santa Clara and Army. The Fighting Irish will host Cornell this weekend.

 

23. Boise State (4-0). Last week: 23

Boise State leads the nation in scoring, and it has scored at least 100 points in three of its four games.

 

24. Virginia Commonwealth (4-2). Last week: 11

VCU finished in sixth place at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off with losses to Florida State and Georgetown and a win against Long Beach State. Next up for the Rams is Northeastern on Friday night.

 

25. North Carolina (4-1). Last week: 19

North Carolina struggled in a win against Richmond on Saturday but came back very strong to upset Louisville on Sunday.
