Arizona defeated Southern in its only game of the week to retain the No. 1 spot. The unbeaten Wildcats continue their homestand against Northern Arizona tonight.
2. Ohio State (12-0). Last week: 2
Ohio State completed one of the best comebacks in college history against Notre Dame at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, erasing an eight-point deficit in the final minute. The Buckeyes will look to stay undefeated against Louisiana-Monroe on Friday.
3. Syracuse (11-0). Last week: 3
Syracuse’s perfect start continued with a win against High Point on Friday. The Orange will face their second Top-25 opponent of the year when they host Villanova on Saturday.
4. Wisconsin (12-0). Last week: 4
Undefeated Wisconsin was out of action last week, but the Badgers will host Prairie View A&M this weekend in their final non-conference game.
5. Michigan State (10-1). Last week: 5
Michigan State defeated a tough Texas team on the road for its third straight win. The Spartans will host New Orleans in what should be an easy win Saturday.
6. Oklahoma State (11-1). Last week: 6
Oklahoma State defeated Colorado on a neutral site Saturday for arguably its best win of non-conference play. The Cowboys have now won their last four games.
7. Louisville (11-1). Last week: 7
Louisville has won six straight games entering its matchup with in-state rival Kentucky on Saturday.
8. Wichita State (12-0). Last week: 8
Wichita State defeated North Carolina Central and Alabama last week to stay perfect. The Shockers will host Davidson on Sunday.
9. Iowa State (9-0). Last week: 10
Iowa State opened the Diamond Head Classic with a win against George Mason. The Cyclones will face Akron this afternoon in the semifinals.
10. Duke (9-2). Last week: 11
Duke defeated UCLA at Madison Square Garden on Thursday for its second, high-quality win of the season. The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday against Eastern Michigan.
11. Baylor (10-1). Last week: 12
Baylor needed overtime to get a victory against Northwestern State, but it had no trouble with Southern on Sunday. The Bears have this week off and then finish their homestand against Oral Roberts and Savannah State.
12. Florida (9-2). Last week: 13
Florida defeated Memphis and Fresno State last week. The Gators will host Savannah State on Sunday.
13. Oregon (11-0). Last week: 15
Oregon survived Brigham Young in overtime to remain unbeaten. The Ducks’ final non-conference game is Sunday against Morgan State.
14. Villanova (11-0). Last week: 16
Villanova blew past Rider on Saturday to improve to 11-0. The Wildcats will play at Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.
15. Connecticut (10-1). Last week: 9
Connecticut lost for the first time this season at the hands of Stanford, but the Huskies rebounded with a win at Washington on Sunday. They will host Eastern Washington on Saturday and then begin American Athletic Conference play at Houston on New Year’s Day.
16. Kansas (8-3). Last week: 18
Kansas had no problem with Georgetown on Saturday, improving to 8-3. The Jayhawks’ next game is against undefeated Toledo on Dec. 30.
17. Colorado (10-2). Last week: 17
Colorado’s 10-game winning streak ended with a loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Buffaloes will host Georgia in their last non-conference game on Saturday.
18. Kentucky (9-3). Last week: 19
Kentucky survived a tough Belmont team Saturday afternoon to avoid its first back-to-back losses of the season.
19. Massachusetts (10-1). Last week: 14
Massachusetts’ undefeated season ended with a 60-55 loss to Florida State. The Minutemen have another tough game coming up against Providence on Saturday.
20. Memphis (8-2). Last week: 21
Memphis lost a close game to Florida at the Jimmy V Classic, but the Tigers bounced back with a win against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday.
21. Iowa (11-2). Last week: 22
In its only game of the week, Iowa easily defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Hawkeyes will begin Big Ten competition against Nebraska on New Year’s Eve.
22. North Carolina (8-3). Last week: 24
North Carolina needed overtime to survive Davidson, but a win is a win. The Tar Heels will host Northern Kentucky on Friday in their next game.
23. San Diego State (9-1). Last week: Unranked
San Diego State has won eight straight games since losing to Arizona on Nov. 14. The Aztecs begin Mountain West play at Colorado State on New Year’s Day.
24. Michigan (7-4). Last week: Unranked
Michigan defeated Stanford at Barclays Center for its first quality win of the season. The Wolverines finish non-conference play against Holy Cross on Saturday.
25. Illinois (10-2). Last week: Unranked
Illinois ended Missouri’s undefeated season with a win on a neutral site. The Fighting Illini will face UIC at the United Center in their final non-conference game.
