Illinois State landed an impact transfer Monday in former Bethune Cookman forward Quintin Brewer. Brewer averaged 9.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks last season for the Wildcats.
The 6-foot-7 forward will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer for one season.
Brewer is an important addition to Illinois State’s thin frontcourt. Star center Reggie Lynch transferred to Minnesota, and reserve big man John Jones exhausted his eligibility.
Brewer joins returning forwards MiKyle McIntosh and Deontae Hawkins, who is truly a perimeter player.
The Redbirds also add New Mexico transfer Nick Banyard and freshmen Elvis Harvey and David Ndiaye to their front line.
