Every week The Catch and Shoot will name a Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week, Team of the Week and Game of the Week from the five Division I schools in the Chicago area.

Here are the winners for the first week of the season (Nov. 13-Nov. 22):

Bryant McIntosh, Northwestern

McIntosh has dominated Northwestern’s last two games. He recorded 20 points, five assists and four steals in a win against Fairfield, and followed that with 32 points and six assists in an overtime victory against Columbia.

Through the first three games this season, McIntosh is averaging 21.3 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 55.8 percent from the field.

Honorable mention: Milton Doyle, Loyola; Myke Henry, DePaul

 

Freshman of the Week

Aaron Falzon, Northwestern

Falzon struggled against Columbia, but he led Northwestern in scoring in his debut with 20 points against UMass-Lowell. He also tallied 13 points in the win against Fairfield.

Falzon was recruited to be a shooter, and he has made 8-of-18 from beyond the arc through three games.

Honorable mention: Dikembe Dixson, UIC

 

Team of the Week

Northwestern

The Wildcats are Chicago’s only undefeated team.

 

Game of the Week

Loyola 69, Toledo 62

The Ramblers came back from down 18-points to win a thriller against Toledo. Guard Milton Doyle had 26 points on 8-of-9 shooting, although he also turned the ball over nine times.
