Every week The Catch and Shoot will name a Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week, Team of the Week and Game of the Week from the five Division I schools in the Chicago area.
Here are the winners for the 16th week of the season (Feb. 29-March 6):

Player of the Week
Tre Demps, Northwestern
Demps averaged 20 points last week as Northwestern went 2-0. Although he struggled in the second half Sunday against Nebraska, Demps’ 12-point first half on 5-of-8 shooting helped the Wildcats to a big lead as they went on to win 65-54.

Freshman of the Week
Dikembe Dixson, UIC
In his Horizon League Tournament debut, Dixson recorded a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. The young sensation finished the year with averages of 19.8 points and 7.3 boards per game.

Team of the Week
Northwestern
The Wildcats defeated Penn State and Nebraska to finish ninth in the Big Ten and earn a conference tournament bye.
Game of the Week
Wichita State 66, Loyola 58
The Ramblers erased a 12-point deficit and led the top-seeded Shockers 52-45 late in the second half of a MVC Tournament quarterfinal matchup. Ron Baker and Shaquille Morris charged Wichita State’s late comeback, avoiding one of the biggest upsets in tournament history.
