Every week The Catch and Shoot will name a Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week, Team of the Week and Game of the Week from the five Division I schools in the Chicago area.

Here are the winners for the ninth week of the season (Jan. 11-Jan. 17):

Player of the Week

Bryant McIntosh, Northwestern

Even in Northwestern’s ugly loss to Penn State, McIntosh tallied 10 assists. He also had 12 points on 6-of-15 shooting for the first double-double of his career.

The sophomore also single-handedly led Northwestern to a victory against Wisconsin with 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting.

Honorable mentions: Myke Henry, DePaul; Tai Odiase, UIC

Freshman of the Week

Michael Kolawole, UIC

Kolawole gets his first Freshman of the Week award after averaging 10.5 points and five rebounds in two losses last week.

With guard Dominique Matthews out for the season, Kolawole has stepped up in conference play as a legitimate scoring option for the Flames. The Texas native shot 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) and 6-of-6 at the foul line last week.

Honorable mentions: Dikembe Dixson, UIC

Team of the Week

Loyola

The Ramblers may have lost in embarrassing fashion to a Bradley team of almost completely freshmen, but they made up for it with a 51-41 victory at Northern Iowa.

Loyola is still a long way from avoiding the Arch Madness play-in round, but one win is better than none.

Game of the Week

Green Bay 78, UIC 76

UIC and Green Bay went back and forth for the entire 40 minutes with the game coming down to a pair of free throws with one second left. Green Bay guard Turner Botz made both foul shots, and the Phoenix escaped UIC Pavilion with the nail-biting win.
