Every week for the 2016-17 season, The Catch and Shoot will name a Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week, Team of the Week and Game of the Week among the five Division I schools in the Chicago area.
Here are the winners for the 4th week of the season (Dec. 5-Dec. 11):

Player of the Week
Milton Doyle, Loyola
Doyle is starting to find his groove again. The Loyola senior averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in two Rambler wins last week. He turned in his performance of the season in a 72-56 victory against Milwaukee, going for 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting along with 6 boards, 7 dimes and 2 blocks.
Honorable mention: Trayvon Palmer, Chicago State; Clayton Custer, Loyola; Aundre Jackson, Loyola
Freshman of the Week
Levi Cook, DePaul
Cook averaged 6 points, 6 rebounds and a block as DePaul went 1-1 last week. The 6’10” center’s career is only four games deep as he missed the first four games of the season. He’s got rough spots and needs to get in better shape, but he has shown promise so far.

At 9-2, Loyola has won four straight games and holds the best winning percentage among the five Chicago schools.
Game of the Week
Grand Canyon 73, UIC 69
The Flames used a 12-0 run to take a 68-65 lead in the final minutes, but Grand Canyon game back to nip them in front of a loud crowd. UIC still has not won a road game under Steve McClain, but it will get another shot this week at DePaul.
